Ropes and cords made of natural materials can be a very distinctive decorative element in interiors and exteriors. Of course, they also have a wide range of uses in the garden, agriculture and forestry. Sisal is a natural material sisal that is very easy to grip, even when wet, it is biodegradable and therefore very environmentally friendly.

Sisal ropes and cords are particularly suitable for cat scratching posts. They can also be used in agriculture, gardening, forestry or in sports for making targets. Sisal ropes and cords are lighter and rougher than jute ropes, but are more resistant to dirt and mites. They are very easy to grip even when wet.

Due to their ability to bind fats, they have a permanent place in the engineering industry in the production of steel wire ropes (the ability to bind fats is a key feature for this industry) and they are also popular in the construction industry (they do not slip in the hand).

As a natural material, sisal has low UV resistance and no resistantance to acids, but is well resistant to alkalis and organic solvents. Natural ropes of all diameters are produced with a polypropylene core.

Basic properties

  • they are not resistant to acids,
  • good resistance to alkalis and organic solvents,
  • low resistance to UV radiation,
  • rough to the touch,
  • biodegradable material,
  • bind fats.
