Overview of materials, their properties and suitability for use

At Lanex you will find ropes and cords made from these basic materials:

Polypropylene: because of their resistance to weather and chemicals, they are suitable for everyday use in construction, in the garden, in agriculture, and, because they do not absorb water, they can also be used on any boat or ship.

Polypropylene multitex (PPM): thanks to its softness, it holds knots well and can find wide use in leisure as well as work, camping, yachting. Due to their delicacy and relatively wide range of colours, they can also be suitable e.g. as ropes for railings or as other interior elements .

Polyester: ropes with very high strength, low tensile strength and high resistance to weathering are especially suitable for use when lifting heavy loads with pulleys, during the manufacture or modification of clothing and wherever the rope may come into contact with water, as they retain their softness even when wet.

Polyamide: ropes with excellent strength and relatively high elasticity, they are suitable as tying, lifting and pulling ropes, and in shipping, land transport, as well as in industry and agriculture.

Natural materials: they do not excel in strength or resistance to environmental influences, but they can be a very distinctive decorative element in interiors and in exteriors. Use in the garden, agriculture, forestry. They do not slip in your hands, they are also suitable for sports purposes - climbing or pulling.
